Event Management
Regional San
The Sacramento County Regional Sanitation District (Regional San), now known as Sacramento Area Sewer District (SacSewer), is responsible for more than just handling wastewater in our region—it is also a leader in promoting and protecting environmental sustainability. In collaboration with Sacramento Splash, Regional San provided significant funding for renovations to turn the historic Nicolaus Dairy into a Project AWE educational site. Project AWE provides grade-level specific educational opportunities in Agriculture, Water, Energy, and the Environment. With renovations complete and excited to open its doors to the public, Regional San was in need of a celebratory grand opening that held emphasis on the farm’s history while introducing its new look and purpose.
In partnership with Merlot Marketing, the Clutch team curated a completely customized full-event production. With the goal of elevating the barn experience, we catered to a mixed audience of elected officials, board members and staff from Regional San and SPLASH, and Nicolaus Dairy family members. Our experienced event team oversaw all vendor and budget management aspects, from sourcing, contract negotiation, tracking and reporting to create a seamless experience for the client. With guest experience at the forefront of our minds, the event was scheduled in the morning to enhance guest comfort amid the summer heat, and catered to their inner child, where they participated in interactive educational aspects around the farm.
Ensuring the event was unique and memorable, no detail was overlooked as personalized moments covered every inch of the site. From photo opportunities with Lucky, the blue-ribbon dairy cow, and pollinator flower planting stations where attendees walked away with a jar of honey to custom donuts, including a “Moo-Berry Crunch”, and cowbells for the audience to ring during the ribbon cutting, the event felt authentic to the dairy farm’s history while celebrating its future. When designing the event, team members were thoughtful about how our presence could continue to serve the client after we left. Potted flowers stayed in the pollinator garden, and umbrellas that provided shade remained on the farm.
Guests were left with the extraordinary experience of witnessing a new chapter unfold for the historic family farm, celebrating its rebirth into an education site.
