Annual Membership Event

Leadership Sacramento (LS) is a program of the Sacramento Metro Chamber of Commerce Foundation that develops community-minded business and civic leaders of tomorrow in yearlong cohorts. Their Alumni Association was created to foster relationships between the different cohorts and continue the success of the program. For the LS Annual Membership Event, we wanted to create an event that caused a splash–something unique and big! We decided to bank on the success of the element of surprise. Attendees registered for the event knowing the general location, and then received a text message one hour beforehand with the address. This speakeasy-style event took a dusty, abandoned warehouse in Downtown Sacramento and transformed it into an amazing event space.

With some of Sacramento’s favorite restaurants including Canon, Camden, Franquette, and The Rind, we offered wine pairings with small bites and rose tastings at each station. Additionally, Conscious Creamery brought in their ice cream bar cart and Locked Barrel hosted an open bar with a variety of wine and beer – plus a smoked whiskey custom cocktail! A trio band played a set list of favorite covers.

Clutch handled event production and design from top to bottom, bringing in chandeliers, setting up seating areas with unique furniture, signature cocktails, and even flying in custom linens from Kansas City after a supply chain issue affected rentals. We were also able to manage what could have been an event-ending crisis when the night before, the copper cooling elements were stolen from the event venue. The morning of our team was able to kick into gear, procuring other cooling options to make the guests cool and comfortable.
